Softball Recap: Mason Comes Up Short

After flying high against Alma on Saturday, Mason came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Williamston Hornets by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost five in a row.

Mason now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Williamston, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mason will take on Northwest at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Williamston, they will face off against Marshall at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redhawks have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
