Basketball Recap: Shepaug Valley Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Shepaug Valley extended their winning streak to ten games thanks to a huge performance from Reed Woerner. The Shepaug Valley Spartans breezed by the Whitney RVT Owls to the tune of 89-26 on Tuesday thanks in part to Woerner, who dropped a double-double on 39 points and 15 rebounds. His evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Konik, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 assists. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Shepaug Valley pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.1 points. As for Whitney RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Shepaug Valley is taking a road trip to take on Thomaston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shepaug Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Thomaston likes a good challenge. Whitney RVT has already played their next game (against Wolcott RVT), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
