Baseball Recap: Lamar Triumphs

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Lamar ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Cossatot River Eagles by a score of 9-5. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered an 8-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Quinton Williams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Williams was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaiden Crotts was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kasen Humphrey, who went 1-for-6 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lamar's win bumped their record up to 7-13-1. As for Cossatot River, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Lamar will welcome Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cossatot River, they will head out to challenge Blevins at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
