Volleyball Game Preview: Mesa Verde Mavericks vs. Franklin Wildcats

The Mesa Verde Mavericks will face off against the Franklin Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mesa Verde will be strutting in after a victory while Franklin will be coming in after a loss.

Mesa Verde made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Del Campo, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Mesa Verde blew past Del Campo 3-0 on Monday. The contest marked the Mavericks' most dominant win of the season so far.

Mesa Verde never let Del Campo on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-23, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Elk Grove.

Franklin actually scored more points across those five sets (107-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 20-25, 15-13.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Mesa Verde, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
