Soccer Game Preview: Phoenix Academy vs. Cornerstone Charter

The Phoenix Academy Firebirds will face off against the Cornerstone Charter Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Phoenix Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Phoenix Academy fell victim to North Stokes and their airtight defense on March 11th. They lost 4-0 to the Vikings.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Cornerstone Charter made sure to put some goals up on the board against River Mill on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Jaguars. Cornerstone Charter might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by three goals or more this season.

Cornerstone Charter's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six contests. As for Phoenix Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
