Baseball Recap: Gilroy Takes a Loss

Gilroy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Christopher Cougars, falling 18-2. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Gilroy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Passama, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Gilroy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Christopher, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Gilroy will head out on the road to square off against Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Christopher, they will square off against Branham at 4:00 p.m. on the 16th. The Bruins will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
