Softball Recap: North Central Panthers vs. Christel House Eagles

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Central). Everything went their way against the Christel House Eagles on Tuesday as they made off with a 21-5 victory. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.

Kaelee Jacobs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. Jacobs was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ryleigh Reiblich was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samantha Saalfrank, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.

North Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christel House only posted a batting average of .059.

North Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Christel House, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, North Central will square off against Warren Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christel House, they will take on Purdue Polytechnic on Saturday.
