Baseball Recap: Cape Henry Collegiate Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Colin Lebel made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other pitching news, Jackson Jones looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Hummel, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Chris Martinez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Cape Henry Collegiate is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. The defeat snapped Grafton's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

Cape Henry Collegiate wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-0 loss against St. Ignatius on the 29th. As for Grafton, they will challenge Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
