Volleyball Recap: Ireneo Panecatl Key Part of Team Effort in Hawkeyes Win

There's no place like home for Hanover Area, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Lackawanna Trail Lions on Wednesday. The Hawkeyes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Hanover Area had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-18.

Hanover Area got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ireneo Panecatl out in front who had 13 digs and three blocks. Panecatl has been hot, having also posted 13 or more assists the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Davyn Piatt-Ferreira, who had 16 digs, ten kills, and one block.

Hanover Area's record now sits at 5-9-3. As for Lackawanna Trail, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
