Volleyball Recap: Aly Mabee and Maria Silva Secure Win for Saugus

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marblehead, Saugus was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Everett Crimson Tide 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Saugus was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-15, 15-9.

Saugus was led to victory by Maria Silva and Aly Mabee. Silva had 11 digs and two assists, while Mabee had 19 assists and two aces. Those 19 assists gave Mabee a new career-high.

Saugus moved to 7-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Everett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Saugus will welcome Stoneham at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Everett, they will take on Revere at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
