Volleyball Recap: Mckinnley Beard Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Charleston Collegiate

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Andrew Jackson Academy walked away with it. They came out on top against the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils by a score of 2-0 on Friday. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Sundevils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2023.

Andrew Jackson Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was McKinnley Beard, who had 20 kills and five digs. Beard has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 12 times she's played. Bella Carrigg was another key player, getting 25 assists.

Andrew Jackson Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-8 record this season. As for Charleston Collegiate, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
