Basketball Recap: Battle Mountain Takes a Loss

Battle Mountain played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 58-24 loss at the hands of the Glenwood Springs Demons. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 56-13 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Izzy Kovacik was Battle Mountain's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Kovacik also led the team in assists with three. Kate Kovacik held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.

Glenwood Springs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ivee Enewold out in front who went 5 of 11 to rack up 13 points and six steals. Glenwood Springs is 7-1 when Enewold posts five or more steals, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Chloe Davies, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Battle Mountain is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7. As for Glenwood Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

Battle Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-38 loss against Summit on the 6th. As for Glenwood Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-37 defeat against Eagle Valley on the 6th.
