Baseball Recap: Wes-Del Wins Going Away Against Randolph Southern

Wes-Del had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Randolph Southern on Thursday. The Warriors blew past the Rebels 12-2. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won five in a row.

Carter Flynn made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tyler Summers was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. He also scored three runs, which is notable because Wes-Del is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Grayson Mealy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Wes-Del always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Wes-Del's record is now 3-4. As for Randolph Southern, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
