Wes-Del is 0-9 against Eastern Hancock since April of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Warriors will square off against the Royals at 5:30 p.m. Wes-Del is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Wes-Del's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Muncie Central. Considering the Warriors have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Devyn Jaycox was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Wes-Del got a massive performance out of Brooklynn Eden, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Eden a new career-high. Kenzie Anderson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Eastern Hancock got the win against Knightstown on Monday by a conclusive 13-7. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Macy Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Eastern Hancock let Lilli Ringer and Addisyn Trackwell run wild. Ringer went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while Trackwell went 3-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Wittgren, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Eastern Hancock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Wes-Del pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Eastern Hancock, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Eastern Hancock's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wes-Del has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Eastern Hancock, though, as they've been averaging 9.7 hits. Given Wes-Del's sizable advantage in that area, the Royals will need to find a way to close that gap.
Wes-Del suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Eastern Hancock when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
