Soccer Game Preview: Washington vs. Glendale

The Washington Rams will take on the Glendale Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Washington has nine straight wins, Glendale has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Washington's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Alhambra as Washington made off with a 5-0 victory. Considering the Rams have won ten contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Alhambra with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Pablo Morquecho (2), Rafael Valdez, Junior Villalba Martinez, and Samweli Mpenda.

Meanwhile, Glendale didn't have quite enough to beat Cortez on Thursday and fell 2-1.

Washington's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three games. As for Glendale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Everything went Washington's way against Glendale in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Washington made off with a 5-2 victory. Does Washington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Glendale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
