Appalachian had won four straight games and Braden Gilliland did his part to make it five on Friday. The Eagles blew past the Ider Hornets 49-0 with plenty of help from Gilliland, who rushed for 213 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Appalachian's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Erik Wolf with three sacks.

Appalachian's record is now 5-0. As for Ider, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Appalachian will challenge Section at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ider, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gaylesville at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
