Baseball Recap: Lyford Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lyford had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Pettus on Thursday. The Lyford Bulldogs put the hurt on the Pettus Eagles with a sharp 11-1 win. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Gael Silva, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Maverick Claffy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lyford's victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Coincidentally, Lyford and Pettus will both be playing Freer the next time they take the field. Pettus will host Freer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Lyford will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
