Basketball Recap: Port Gibson Blue Waves vs. Florence Eagles
Port Gibson lost against Florence back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Port Gibson Blue Waves fell 67-56 to the Florence Eagles.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Florence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nick Jones, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenington Russell, who scored 24 points plus six rebounds and two steals.
Port Gibson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Port Gibson has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Raymond at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Florence, they will head out to square off against Vicksburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
