Basketball Game Preview: Pine Tree Pirates vs. Spring Hill Panthers

The Pine Tree Pirates will venture away from home to take on the Spring Hill Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Tuesday, Pine Tree was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 75-69 to Chapel Hill. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (67), the Pirates still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 58 points the game before, Spring Hill was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They lost 47-27 to Kilgore. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Bulldogs since February 6, 2021.

Spring Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Pine Tree, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Pine Tree strolled past Spring Hill in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 53-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pine Tree since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
