Basketball Game Preview: Elgin Owls vs. El Reno Indians

After both having extra time off, the Elgin Owls and the El Reno Indians will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Elgin is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest two weeks ago with ease, bagging a 92-2 win over Santa Fe South. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Owls as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, El Reno put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 68-21 win over Noble. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 24 points or more this season.

Elgin's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for El Reno, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Elgin came up short against El Reno in their previous matchup back in February, falling 57-44. Thankfully for Elgin, Pauline Black-Harmon (who went 9 of 10 on her way to 22 points in addition to five boards and three blocks) won't be suiting up this time.
