Preview: Eisenhower Tigers vs. Valley Center Hornets

Eisenhower and Valley Center are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Eisenhower Tigers will be playing at home against the Valley Center Hornets at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Eisenhower came into Friday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 59-53 win over Salina Central on Friday.

Pierce Blue continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chase George, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Valley Center's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Arkansas City by a score of 63-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), Valley Center still had to take the loss.

Eisenhower's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Valley Center, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Eisenhower didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Valley Center in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 63-58 win. Does Eisenhower have another victory up their sleeve, or will Valley Center turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
