Lake Brantley extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Julian Vargas. Everything went the Patriots' way against the Boone Braves on Wednesday as they made off with a 52-32 victory thanks in part to Vargas, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 13 points along with five assists and five boards. He is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

Boone's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makauri Massey, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Deas, who had five points.

Lake Brantley's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Boone, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Lake Brantley will venture away from home to face off against Lyman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots' defense better be ready for this one: the Greyhounds have averaged an impressive 50.4 points per game this season. As for Boone, they will welcome Winter Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Braves' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
