Baseball Recap: Longmont Finds Home Field Redemption Against Skyline

There's no place like home for Longmont, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Skyline Falcons by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Collin Pool was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Pool wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Zayden Villela, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that Villela snagged this season.

Longmont's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Skyline, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
