Baseball Recap: Tulare Union Takes a Loss

Tulare Union extended their losing streak to seven on Wednesday, dropping them down to 6-16. They fell 6-3 to the Tulare Western Mustangs. The Tribe were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Brayden Stevenson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

As for Tulare Western, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games.

On Tulare Western's side, Matthew Corral made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Corral was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Corral wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Gonzalez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tulare Western beat Tulare Union by a score of 6-2 on Friday.
