Softball Recap: Pensacola Comes Up Short

Pensacola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders, falling 20-8. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Amari Howard and Mariell Jones stepped up to the plate in a big way. Howard scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Jones scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Pensacola's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Pensacola Catholic, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-11.

While Pensacola had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
