Basketball Game Preview: Abington Galloping Ghosts vs. Cheltenham Panthers

The Abington Galloping Ghosts will head out on the road to square off against the Cheltenham Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Abington will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Abington didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Pennsbury, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory. Given the Galloping Ghosts' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Falcons are ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Cheltenham beat Central Bucks East 56-51 on Tuesday.

Cheltenham is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Abington, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-4.

Abington was able to grind out a solid victory over Cheltenham in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 70-57. Will Abington repeat their success, or does Cheltenham have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
