Volleyball Recap: Viewpoint Beats Faith Baptist for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Viewpoint had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Faith Baptist Contenders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2018.

Viewpoint had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.

Faith Orquiola and Jean Borchardt certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Orquiola had seven digs and three aces, while Borchardt had eight assists and three aces. Borchardt has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

Viewpoint's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Faith Baptist, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Coming up, Viewpoint will host Windward at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Patriots their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Faith Baptist, they are taking a road trip to challenge Palmdale Academy Charter School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
