Basketball Recap: Patagonia Comes Up Short

Patagonia lost against Willcox back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Patagonia Lobos had to suffer through a 57-30 loss at the hands of the Willcox Cowboys. The Lobos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Patagonia still got an impressive performance from Diego Carranza, who almost dropped a triple-double with 19 points, nine rebounds, and 12 steals. The dominant performance gave Carranza a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Arbizo, who posted two points and five boards.

Willcox found their leader in sophomore Emiliano Chavez, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine steals. Another player making a difference was JD Whetten, who had nine points and six steals.

Patagonia's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Willcox, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Patagonia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-34 victory against San Simon on the 6th. As for Willcox, they have also already played their next game, a 53-46 win against Santa Rita on the 6th.
