Basketball Recap: Carroll Takes a Loss

Carroll played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 64-42 to the Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins. The Chargers have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Carroll still got an impressive performance from Lily George, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 15 boards. That was a full 64.3% of the Chargers' points, marking the fourth time in a row George has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Myers, who had eight points.

Fort Wayne Northrop's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Swynn Jackson, who scored 18 points along with six assists and six steals. The matchup was Jackson's third in a row with at least 18 points. Khala Williams-Thomas was another key player, going 6-for-13 on her way to 18 points and four steals.

Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Carroll wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-37 defeat against Carmel on the 22nd. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, they have also already played their next game, a 49-35 loss against Whitko on the 22nd.
