Volleyball Recap: Christian Brothers Takes a Loss

Christian Brothers came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Jesuit Marauders, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Marauders: they've now lost six in a row.

While Christian Brothers was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 25-22.

Philipp Morozov paced Christian Brothers' offense, picking up 12 kills. Morozov got some help from Nolan Xavier Nguyen and his 16 assists.

Jesuit was led to victory by Luca McGlynn and Naryan Banerjee. McGlynn had 26 assists and 14 digs, while Banerjee had 11 digs and three assists. That's the most assists McGlynn has posted over his last seven matchups. Roman Schwarzinger also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Christian Brothers' defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Jesuit, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Christian Brothers has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Vista del Lago on the 31st. As for Jesuit, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Folsom on the 31st.
