Recap: Buckeye Bucks vs. Cleveland Central Catholic Ironmen
The Buckeye Bucks's four-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Cleveland Central Catholic out 53-50. The win was just what Buckeye needed coming off of a 76-7 defeat in their prior game.
Kwynn Czerwony was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Metter, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
The last time Buckeye lost on the road was back last Wednesday. Having now won three straight away games, they've pushed their record up to 1-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.7 points per game. As for Cleveland Central Catholic, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buckeye will take on Valley Forge at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Valley Forge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Monday. Cleveland Central Catholic will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Elyria Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on December 18th. Elyria Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cleveland Central Catholic in Ohio (Elyria Catholic is ranked 223rd, while Cleveland Central Catholic is ranked 659th).
