Baseball Recap: Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs vs. Ellinwood Eagles

Sylvan-Lucas had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-15 to make it four. They lost 12-2 to the Ellinwood Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Monday.

As for Ellinwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. Considering they have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Ellinwood's part, Drake Hosman and Cohen Gunn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hosman didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Gunn pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hosman also tossed a walk, which is notable because Ellinwood is 5-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 8-10 otherwise.
