South Salem put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Grants Pass Cavemen with a sharp 11-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Saxons, who have now won 16 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Harrison Buckingham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Teagan Scott was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Nelson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

South Salem was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

South Salem's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-0. As for Grants Pass, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

South Salem will have a chance to go back-to-back against Grants Pass: the pair will be back at it again later today.
