Basketball Recap: Oakdale Comes Up Short

Oakdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Hagerstown Hubs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against North Hagerstown this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-60 back in January.

North Hagerstown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden Cespedes led the charge by going 5-for-11 to rack up 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Cespedes a new career-high in boards. Landon Somerville was another key player, going 6-for-10 en route to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Oakdale's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for North Hagerstown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Oakdale has already played their next game, a 71-55 defeat against Urbana on the 7th. As for North Hagerstown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 64-61 loss against Tuscarora on the 7th.
