Softball Game Preview: Moon Valley Rockets vs. Shadow Mountain Matadors

The Moon Valley Rockets will head out on the road to square off against the Shadow Mountain Matadors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Moon Valley has now lost 13 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 26.

Last Friday, Moon Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Dysart and fell 13-12. Even if the Rockets couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jada Young was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Cassandra Rios also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Shadow Mountain came up short against Mingus on Friday and fell 13-10. The Matadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shadow Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Moon Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

Moon Valley suffered a grim 18-5 defeat to Shadow Mountain when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
