Basketball Recap: Orme Comes Up Short

Orme was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 20-19 heartbreaker at the hands of the Verde Valley Coyotes. Having soared to a lofty 59 points in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Orme's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Verde Valley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orme has already played their next contest (against Trinity Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Verde Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Telesis Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Telesis Prep: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Verde Valley has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
