Dillon Claussen leads a balanced attack to beat Gretna

Recap: Creighton Prep Junior Jays vs. Gretna Dragons

The Creighton Prep Junior Jays waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 64-52 victory over Gretna. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Creighton Prep also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

Creighton Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dillon Claussen led the charge by scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks. Claussen is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Djoussa, who scored 16 points.

Creighton Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Gretna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Creighton Prep will square off against Buena Vista at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Gretna, they will head out on the road to square off against Westview at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
