Baseball Game Preview: John Hay vs. Bowsher BlueRacers

John Hay will square off against the Bowsher BlueRacers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. John Hay has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

John Hay is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Rhodes just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 14-4.

Erek Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. John Hay is 3-1 when Williams posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Custodio, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Bowsher fell victim to Start and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-0. The shutout was out of character for the BlueRacers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Bowsher's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for John Hay, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

John Hay suffered a grim 19-5 defeat to Bowsher when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can John Hay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
