Softball Recap: Bluffton Pirates vs. Crestview Knights
Bluffton had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-3 to make it six. They came up short against the Crestview Knights, falling 10-2. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 8-4 to the Knights when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Crestview, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.
For Crestview's part, the team relied heavily on Nevaeh Ross, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Ross a new career-high. Kaci Gregory was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Coming up, Bluffton will welcome Riverdale at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crestview, they will venture away from home to square off against Allen East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
