Baseball Game Preview: Homestead Mustangs vs. Milpitas Trojans

For the second straight game, Homestead will face off against Milpitas. The Mustangs will host the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Homestead has three straight wins, Milpitas has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Homestead beats Milpitas with seven runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Mustangs came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday.

Logan Christianson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Homestead's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ajay Lohitsa, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Milpitas' loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Homestead, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
