Cedar is 9-1 against Hurricane since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cedar Reds are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Hurricane Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cedar has five straight victories, Hurricane has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Cedar took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Cyprus, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Cedar came out on top in a nail-biter against Cyprus on Saturday, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Reds have posted since April 23, 2024.

Sadie Parson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kinzie Hawkins was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Elicia Garcia also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Cedar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Hurricane's offense. They lost 13-0 to Davis on Saturday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.
Hurricane's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Cedar, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Hurricane's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Cedar has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Hurricane, though, as they've been averaging only 2.3 strikeouts. Will Cedar keep running through batters, or will Hurricane buck the trend?
Cedar was able to grind out a solid win over Hurricane in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cedar since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
