Volleyball Recap: Newton's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Newton was the 2-1 winner over Prairie City-Monroe when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs on Thursday. The loss put an end to the Cardinals' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Newton fell to 5-1. As for Prairie City-Monroe, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Newton will take on Indianola at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Cardinals their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Prairie City-Monroe, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Marshall at 6:30 p.m. on the 8th.
