Basketball Recap: Carrollton Trojans vs. Holden Eagles
There's no place like home for the Carrollton Trojans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They took down Holden 57-39 on Tuesday. For Carrollton, this counts as revenge for the 49-43 loss the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Holden saw an underclassman step up: Brody Bockover scored 13 points. Wade Vanmeter was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Carrollton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Holden, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrollton will face off against the Minutemen at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Lexington has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 437 points over their last seven contests. As for Holden, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Knob Noster presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Missouri (the Panthers are ranked 203rd, while the Eagles are ranked 496th).
