South Bend Washington proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 22) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

South Bend Washington's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Bend Washington will challenge New Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Argos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
