Basketball Recap: New Covenant Academy Takes a Loss

In Wednesday's Canine Competition, New Covenant Academy didn't have enough. They were beaten by the Mesrobian Bulldogs 69-22 on Wednesday. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Alex Vartanian was nothing short of spectacular for Mesrobian: he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 31 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Vartanian a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hakop Gyulvanesian, who went 9 of 19 on his way to 15 points and eight assists.

New Covenant Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Mesrobian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

New Covenant Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mesrobian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-29 victory against Southwestern Academy on the 30th.
