Softball Game Preview: Phelps Hornets vs. Pike County Central Hawks

Phelps is 0-10 against Pike County Central since May of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Phelps has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Phelps came up short against Betsy Layne and fell 12-8.

Floyd Central hit Pike County Central with a seven-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks came up short against the Jaguars, falling 13-5.

Pike County Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Phelps, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10-1.

Phelps suffered a grim 18-3 defeat to Pike County Central in their previous meeting last Monday. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
