Softball Recap: North White Victorious

North White hadn't done well against Attica recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Vikings walked away with a 5-2 win over the Red Ramblers. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered an 18-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Raelynn Anliker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Morgan Carter was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Avi Cain also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

North White hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Attica struck out 11 times.

North White's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Attica, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

Coming up, North White will be playing in front of their home fans against North Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Attica, they will head out on the road to square off against Fountain Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Ramblers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
