Houston and Briarcrest Christian are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Houston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Houston was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over St. George's.

Madeleine McClure made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. McClure was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

McClure wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Christina Anderson, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That run marked the first that Anderson scored this season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Briarcrest Christian and Arlington meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Saints came up short against the Tigers, falling 10-0. The Saints have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Briarcrest Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Houston, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Briarcrest Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Houston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .413. It's a different story for Briarcrest Christian, though, as they've only averaged .247. Will they be able to contain Houston's hitters?

Houston took their win against Briarcrest Christian in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
