Video: Different is Better Play of the Week
See the unreal broken play that gave Maine Central Institute a state title.

This isn't quite how Maine Central Institute (Pittsfield, Maine) expected things to go in the final moments of its Class D state championship game Saturday against Lisbon.

Sometimes, different is indeed better.

Tied at 14, the Huskies lined up to attempt a 20-yard field goal on the final play. What happened next will live on in Maine high school football folklore.

After bobbling the snap, holder Eli Bussell decided to make a run for it and scampered up the sideline for a dramatic game-winning score.

Bedlam.

The Huskies erased a 14-point halftime deficit and brought home their first state title in 42 years with the 20-14 victory. Maine Central Institute finished the season 13-0, limiting opponents to eight points or less in the process.

Truly a season to remember in Pittsfield.
