Football Game Preview: Baldwin Indians vs. Suwannee Bulldogs

The Baldwin Indians will challenge the Suwannee Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Baldwin 10.6, Suwannee 7.4) so any points scored will be well earned.

Baldwin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Bishop Snyder get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Baldwin can attribute much of their success to Leighley Cooper, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one score. Those 88 receiving yards gave Cooper a new career-high.

Baldwin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Breianna Stephens, Symphony Gilbert, and Natalie Ramirez-Cruz picked up one apiece. Stephens also made seven total tackles, which is notable because Baldwin is 2-1 when she posts at least three total tackles, but 4-7 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Suwannee strolled past Jefferson County with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 14-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Suwannee's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Baldwin, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
